When Obama made it known that he didn't want David Paterson to run in New York's upcoming gubernatorial election, it appeared Paterson was finished.
But it seems like Paterson has surged as Obama's ratings have fallen:

New York Gov. David Paterson continues his climb out of the basement, as voters disapprove 49 - 40 percent of the job he is doing, up from 57 - 30 percent disapproval October 21 and his best overall score since a 45 - 41 percent approval February 17, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released today.
