Obamanomics Leads to Trailer Park Banking

The Lakeside Bank just opened for business in Lake Charles, LA. It is the first bank to open in the US in 2010 - a year that has already seen 118 bank failures.
The directors and organizers of Lakeside Bank are local Lake Charles business owners and investors that desired to reestablish a locally owned and operated community bank. Over the last 100 years, Lake Charles has had a history of strong local banking institutions. During the wave of consolidations in the 1990s, the major local banks disappeared into larger regional institutions. Lakeside Bank offers Lake Charles consumers and businesses an alternative banking relationship based on dealing with local management and the ability to provide superior customer service.

Hey, good for them. But this isn't your ordinary bank. Behold, the Lakeside Bank:

If you look closely, you'll notice the bank is actually a double-wide trailer. Of course, this means the sum total of all non-trailer banks to open in 2010 is still ZERO.

Welcome to Obama's America!
